Reflect, Restore, Renew – Bereaved Parents Retreat 2020

Very sadly, due to the uncertainty around COVID, we have had to cancel our residential weekend retreat this year.

However, we are delighted to announce that Teddy’s Wish will be funding a day retreat on Sunday 20th September from 10am-5pm*

After experiencing a major loss, grief can significantly affect both your mind and body. Our fully funded retreats are a safe space that give parents the chance to connect with their grief in a supportive and caring environment. There’s also the opportunity to get to know other bereaved parents, who can empathise and share their experiences. The retreat will be held in the restorative surroundings of St Katharine’s Parmoor and couples or individuals can attend.

Run and facilitated by our patron Jenni Thomas OBE (founder of Child Bereavement UK) and Nicola Whitworth, founder of the SLOW charity (surviving the loss of your world), Teddy’s Wish funds the entirety of the retreat, asking parents only to cover their travel costs.

The day will include components from our weekend retreat including group support, mindfulness meditation and time for gentle outdoor exercise.

If you are interested in attending or for further information please email jennifer@teddyswish.org

Comments from parents who have attended previous retreats:

“It was so lovely to spend a weekend dedicated to parenting Anna. To be given time to be together with our grief with no judgement of ourselves and each other. To meet others where conversation about our babies was easy and comfortable because we all understand”.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity for reflection, guided discussions, connecting with others ‘like me’, celebrating all of our babies and the time to slow down and to be present”

“Its’ clear how much all of us loved our children. It helps so much to connect with other bereaved parents, to hear their stories and to hear about their children. It helps to know we’re not alone”

“Meeting other parents and being able to connect with others has been so important”
